Book Festival 2017
The Book Festival Programme is in.  If you are interested in going along, see Mrs Brown by Wednesday 26th for the events you are interested in.  The bookings open on 27th April, early!

Art Gallery Trip
Mrs Towers’ German class is reminded that they must return the EE2 forms by Wednesday 26th April. They are also reminded to bring 2 x bus fares for Thursday 27th April.

Summer Ball Payments
Summer Ball payments are now overdue. The full amount of £45 was due to be paid before the Easter holidays and must be paid asap. Pupils should speak to me if they have any issues or queries about the Ball.

Girls Fitness
Girls Fitness will continue next Wednesday after school. Everyone is welcome. Come and try something new!

Girls rugby will continue next Thursday after school. It would be great if everyone could please attend as we have a tournament coming up! See you there.

After School Gymnastics
Gymnastics club will restart on Tuesday the 25th of April at 3.45pm. All welcome.

Muay Thai Kickboxing Club
The Thai Boxing club will not be running during the next few weeks. Please look out for an announcement in the newsletter to find out when the classes will start again.

Alton Towers Trip
Deadline for payment and EE2’s to be returned is this Friday 28th April. These can be returned to school office or Mr Gregor.  If you still want to go but there are difficulties with meeting that date, see Mr Gregor ASAP.

Water Sports Trip
The second instalment of £100 for the trip is due on Friday 28th April.  These can be made to the school office or Miss Davies.

Food Truck
There will be a food truck selling dishes on Tuesday lunchtime from 12.50pm-1.30pm in the playground.

Fidget Toys
A number of pupils have been bringing spinning fidget toys in to school over the last week. Fidget toys are only allowed in class if they have been authorised by your guidance/support for learning teacher and should not be used in lessons otherwise.

You Can Be a Doctor! S2/S3 Event
In collaboration with a group of medical students and doctors, we are running an event on Monday 8th May at the University of Edinburgh called “You Can Be a Doctor!”

This is for S2/S3 pupils and their parents who are thinking about pursuing a career in medicine.

They will hear from a practicing doctor, current medical students and a member of the team here to find out more about the medical profession and what they will need to be focussing on for the next few years.

Recruiting Holiday Playworkers for Summer 2017
Playworkers support children and young people with disabilities to participate in a range of fun holiday activities and outings.

INC is a charity partnership with the mission of delivering a fun, friendly and exciting holiday playschemes. We are currently recruiting playworkers to work in Edinburgh during the summer school holidays.

The holiday playscheme will take place from 26 June until 4 August. These dates include the paid training days.

We are looking for responsible, energetic and enthusiastic individuals who can easily relate to children and young people and ensure their safety and respect for each other as well as making sure they have fun. You will also have the right attitude and values along with communication skills, patience, reliability, commitment, and a sense of fun.

Earn £7.68 per hour (plus 93p per hour holiday pay)

Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers
The PE department are collecting Active Kids Vouchers again this year.  Please encourage parents/carers to take these when offered if they shop at Sainsbury’s.  Vouchers can be handed to your registration or PE teacher.
